I have just gotten back from being in the United States for a few weeks and everyone has spring fever.
This is the time of year when the weather get warmer, we set back our clocks as the days get longer.
This morning a girlfriend and I needed some catching up, so we decided to have a workout walk.
There was Spring Magic all around that I could not stop taking photographs I hope you enjoy.
Here in Le Marche, everyone is busy getting their Veggie Garden into shape, it’s almost like a competition between the locals.
In the weeks before Spring neighbors began talking about what they will plant this year and of last years plantings.
First step is the turning of the soil and weeding it all out, though it is warm now, no one plants before Easter Sunday in fear of a last frost.
Below are seven overturned and weeded gardens, I was blessed to see on my walk. All off to a good start.
Just about every house her has a vegetable garden, growing your own food here is as common as drinking water, it’s a way of life.
This lady here is not doing her vegetable garden, she is doing a pleasure garden in front of her newly remodeled home.
These two homes below are neighbors and always have the greenest grass and immaculate gardens. The competition is on!
These are artichokes below, they grow almost wild here. First they send up an artichoke and if not harvested it will bloom into a spectacular flower.
I just got back a few days ago from Nantucket Mass. There the signs of Spring are the coming up of daffodils everywhere, in fact in late April they have the famous Daffodil Parade of Nantucket.
Here in Italy the signs of Spring are the millions of wild roadside poppies, we also have tulips, crotons, daffodils and other bulb flowers but the poppies are Italy to me.
We have a kumquat bush plated in a pot next to the gate, it produces so many delicious kumquat’s all summer long.
What a nice morning walk, I am feeling so blessed to live in such a magical place. Also I’m happy Spring is here.
