The other evening I had the pleasure of going to ” fffumée HOME RESTAURANT” where I enjoyed a delicious smoked meal.

Chef Giampaolo Verducci has some Moxie!
Chef Giampaolo Verducci has lived and worked in the restaurant business in Finland for more than 20 years and has brought these learned traditions back home with him to a special village in Le Marche called, Monteleone. Giampaolo is also extremely creative in other ways with his hands in the arts of carpentry, which is displayed in every nook of his beautiful home restaurant. One really gets the feel of Finland mixed with Le Marche all in good taste.

This beautiful handmade wooden table with glass top filled with stones, simple and amazing. It was like eating on a river.

I love the use of wood and all natural products.
We began the evening on the terrace where we were served a cocktail with mint, citrus and sambuca (the non-alcoholic version was delicious as well) and salmon stuffed olives and bruschetta with cold smoked salmon, they were divine.

Then we were called into the dining area, tonight it was the kitchen where we could watch the chef in action.

Please excuse the used knife, but I was about to dig in then thought, “Take a photo woman!” Sliced fresh pecorino cheese with homemade jam, salmon puff pastry and a spinach and tuna quiche. All eaten on the “River Table”.
Starting with some mixed bruschetta, cold-smoked mackerel and fresh goats cheese and salty puff pastries
My photo does not do it justice but this was so so good I could have eaten all this cold smoked mackerel and left the bread. Plate of just cold smoked mackerel please!
Our first dish was (because it is gone in our tummies) fresh campofilone pasta with smoked salmon and sauteed onions & radicchio. It was delicious and the pasta itself was absolutely yummy, honestly I have never noticed the taste of pasta itself before, it was salted to perfection and I don’t even like salt.
This was a simple tomato sauce pasta because someone in our dinner party does not like salmon, it was NOT me!
Our second course was hot-smoked mackerel & crayfish with rosemary potatoes. This dish was simple and interesting, I cleaned my plate!
The evening ended with homemade limoncello with candles on the River Table and………
